International Games Day is a day where libraries all around the world hold a day where students can play board games, card games, computer games, and video games.  Turner Middle School has the distinction of being the only school library in Douglas County that hosts International Games Day each year.

This year, IGD was held on Saturday, November 19th from 9:00-5:00 in the TMS Media Center and the Lithia Springs Public Library across the street.  Over 100 students from around the county will came to test their gaming skills.  We had tournaments in Blitz Chess, the Halo Evolution computer game, and several video games like Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Brothers U.  Super popular this year was the Werewolf LARPing game (Live Action Role Playing).  In Werewolf, students role played as helpless villagers, werewolves, and hunters in a quest to rid their village of the werewolf threat.

New this year included a Pokemon Go scavenger hunt and the Playstation Virtual Reality system.

At the end of the day, we crowned David W.  the King of Games in Douglas County!  He gets to wear that title for the next year!
