Reading - 6th Grade

I am so excited to be teaching at Turner Middle School! I graduated from Kennesaw State University with a degree in Middle Grades Education. I hold certifications in both Reading and Language Arts. My goal is to motivate students to always strive for excellence. I have two daughters and a son, and I have been married for 17 years. I enjoy spending time with my family. I am a dance mom, cheer mom, football mom, and baseball mom. Yes, my kids are very busy and I love every minute of it. Reading is a true passion and I love to get lost in a great book.  I look forward to collaborating with students, parents, my awesome co-workers, and the community to make this a fabulous school year.

I began my teaching career as an Elementary School 2nd Grade teacher at St. Leo The Great in New Orleans Louisiana. I taught there for two years, while working on teacher certification. My certification training ended abruptly after  My family and I was forced relocated to Georgia after Hurricane Katrina.  I worked as an Educational Assistant at KIPP South Fulton Academy in Fulton County for one year before deciding to go back to school for my degree in Middle Grades Education. I taught 7th grade Language Arts at Floyd Middle School, Marietta Middle School and Marietta 6th grade Academy as both a long term substitute teacher and  teacher, after graduating from Kennesaw State University. I am entering my  3rd year here at Turner Middle School as a 6th Grade Reading teacher.
