Once a month students should read and interpret 2 of the quotes.  Select any 2 quotes on the page that you can explain either in an anecdote or detailed message. 

Here is an archived list of all the quotes for the semester.  Many of the quotes are inspirational messages from historical figures.

Tips for Success

  • Before typing, write a rough draft.  Check spelling, capitalization, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Use complete sentences when organizing your thoughts.
  • When you begin a new idea, skip a line for a new paragraph. 
  • Avoid plagiarism and dishonest posts.
  • Respect other's ideas and opinions.  Respond respectfully to disagreeable opinions.
  • Do not wait until the last minute to post.  
  • Be mindful of internet netiquette; absolutely no cyberbullying.
  • Do not post personal information.
  • Avoid slang or text-message-type writing.
  • Read out loud before publishing the response.


1- Ineffective Missed the Standard - Spelling, capitalization, and punctuation errors. Response very incomplete.  Key ideas left out.  Poor delivery or explanation.
2 - Developing Approaching the Standard - Several errors in usage.  Did not fully answer the question, but message was received.  Perhaps incomplete or missing parts to writing prompt.
3 - Proficient Meets the Standard - Few errors in usage and standard English.  Good response to writing prompt.  Answered question, but may have lacked descriptive details.
4 - Exemplary Exceeds the Standard - Fully developed sentences.  Written in standard English.  Responded critically and with purpose.  Answered the question directly giving sound reasons and explanations
